In the aim of supporting and improving its policies, the Veneto Region has been participating from several years in a wide range of networks and projects, including lots of EU projects (both as Leader and Partner).
The Veneto Region promotes the consolidation and the strengthening of the Venetian industrial cooperative system and - by granting subsidies - it supports SMEs in their developmental processes and business continuity process.
Using the tools provided by regional laws and the new Community Planning – Regional Operative Plan (ROP) 2007-2013 -, the Department of Industry and Craft of the Veneto Region coordinates actions that promote women and youngs entrepreneurs through the implementation of measures to boost creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship business for both development, economic growth and employment. In synergy with that, Veneto Region acts in front row with the "Veneto Cooperative Social Responsibility Project", created in 2006 and renewed until 2013, which includes many activities for the promotion and training on culture and principles of corporate social responsibility. The aim of this initiative is to make enterprises protagonist in the relationship with civil society. The main regional initiatives aim at boosting entrepreneurship and innovation in the respect of the CSR, which means to start considering ethic and business as two aspects integrated into business management.
In the field of supporting entrepreneurship, SMEs development and innovation, in the last few years the Veneto Region – Industry and Craft Department joined the Interreg project MINI EUROPE - Mainstreaming innovative instruments in Europe (Interreg IVC), TEC PARK NET - Networking the Science and Technological Parks (Interreg IIIB Cadses), CARA - Instruments for the innovation of the Alpine SMEs (Alpine Space), FRESH - Forwording regional Sustainable Environment Hierarchies (Interreg IVC), ADC – Adriatic Danubian Clustering (South East Europe), IFA – Innovation and Finance Agency (South East Europe), Alpstar – Toward carbon neutral Alps – make best practice minimum standard (Alpine Space). Actually, the department is leading the Interreg IVC project named MESSE, which aims at enhancing synergies and sustainability among all type of enterprises, social enterprises included.
